FAQs

At Semaphore Road Physio, we often receive questions about our Physiotherapy services, Clinical Pilates, and the classes we offer. To help you find the information you need, we've compiled answers to the most common queries.

However, if you don't see what you're looking for, don't hesitate to get in touch with us. Our team is always happy to assist and provide any further details to ensure you feel confident and informed about your treatment options.

  • Physiotherapists are experts in movement, helping assess muscle and spinal tightness, relieving pressure on painful areas, and supporting your recovery from discomfort and injury.

When it comes to pain relief and getting back to the activities you love, physiotherapy should be your first choice.

All Physiotherapists hold university qualifications and use research-backed treatment techniques to provide safe, effective care. We are passionate about helping people regain movement, strength, and confidence in their bodies.

Physiotherapists are trained to manage a wide range of conditions affecting the nerves, muscles, joints, and spine.

  • You do not need a doctor’s referral unless you are claiming for any of the following:

    • Workers Compensation

    • Compulsory Third Party Insurance

    • You are claiming the Medicare Rebate

    • You are a client of the Department of Veterans Affairs

  • For your convenience we provide the HICAPS system for on-the-spot processing of private health fund rebates (if you are covered for physiotherapy by your health fund you just swipe your health fund card, your rebate is processed automatically and you only have to pay the difference).

Payment is required at the time of treatment and we accept cash, MasterCard, Visa and EFTPOS.

If your treatment costs are being claimed through Workcover, Medicare EPC or Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) then once the appropriate paperwork is in place there is no cost to you.

  • Wearing comfortable clothing to your physiotherapy sessions is recommended, as it allows for better access to the area being assessed and treated. Your privacy and comfort are our top priorities, and we ensure that you feel at ease throughout your appointment.

For lower limb concerns, shorts are ideal. If you don’t have any, we can provide a pair for you to use.

For upper body assessments, a singlet or sports top is best for female clients to allow for easy movement and effective treatment.

Our goal is to ensure you feel comfortable while receiving the best possible care.

  • Your initial and follow up appointment will take approximately 30 minutes, unless a 40 minutes appointment is booked.

Please aim to arrive a few minutes early for your first appointment, as there will be some paperwork to complete upon arrival.

If you are running late, please give us a call so we can do our best to accommodate you.

A fee may apply for missed appointments or cancellations made at short notice.
